While there are lotteries all over the world, the most famous of them all has to be the Toto lottery in Singapore. While many people in other countries have only heard of the Toto lottery from what they’ve read or seen on TV,

it’s actually very popular throughout Asia and even in other areas of the world. This guide will help you understand everything you need to know about the Toto 4D lottery so that you can start playing if you so choose.

Getting Started with the Toto

If you’re going to play, you first need to buy a ticket. In Singapore, we always head over to Singapore Pools outlets for our tickets; there are many around, including at local community centers.

First-time players can get their lucky number from a past ticket or from their friend’s winning ticket; or pick a good luck number from something else (such as one of these numbers ). After that, all you have to do is decide how much you want to bet and what kind of payout you want.

There are five different payout options ranging from 1X—which pays out 10 times your bet if it comes up—to 5X—which gives out 50 times your bet if it hits.

How it Works

The Toto 4D lottery draws six numbers ranging from 1-to 47. Unlike in Powerball, these numbers are not fixed. Instead, they are dynamic and can change throughout each draw. Additionally, you will have a chance of winning either a jackpot (when all six main numbers match) or a second prize (when five or four main numbers match). The drawing is held every Wednesday at 7 p.m. JST and tickets must be purchased by 8:30 p.m. each Tuesday evening for them to be eligible for that week’s draw. These official rules are available here .

Top Tips

  • Choose 6 numbers from 0-47; your chances of getting them all right is 1 in 12,500,000.
  • Any prizes from 70 cents up are paid in cash and any prizes over that are paid out as a fixed lump sum with a choice of annuity options for smaller prizes.
  • If you match 3 or more numbers but not all 6, you still have a chance at winning a smaller prize.
  • Any prizes from 70 cents up are paid in cash and any prizes over that are paid out as a fixed lump sum with a choice of annuity options for smaller prizes.
  • If you win one of these smallest prizes then you can try again next week with an entry fee.

Choosing Your Numbers

When it comes to the lottery, there are two ways of picking your numbers. Either you choose your own numbers or you use a Quick Pick. It is usually not suggested that you choose your own numbers because you can increase your chances of winning by choosing Quick Pick. Although, some people believe that if they have a certain date on their birthdays or their lucky number that they should use those instead of using a Quick Pick. For example, if someone’s birthday is April 28th then they could pick that as one of their numbers for every week. Some people say it is better to be safe than sorry so I would suggest not doing anything that could put yourself in harm’s way and sticking with a quick pick.
